Sahara Monica (佐原 モニカ) is a Japanese-British fashion model.

Biography

Sahara Monica was born on April 21, 1993, in Tokyo, Japan. Her father is British and her mother is Japanese.

In her youth, she attended EXPG Tokyo.

Sahara made her modeling debut at the age of 14 after being scouted in Shibuya. At the time, she belonged to the modeling agency étrenne.

In March 2012, she won a special prize at a magazine's exclusive model audition, which was jointly held by Kodansha, the publisher of the fashion magazine GLAMOROUS, and the entertainment agency LDH.

She left LDH at the beginning of 2020 after her contract with the agency expired.

Personal Life

On August 21, 2020, Sahara announced that she had given birth to her first child, a son named River Asher (Sahara) Abad, on August 12.

Furthermore, she revealed that she had married the father of the child, photographer Mat Abad, whom has cited her as his muse several times.
