PARADISE GO!! GO!!, also known as Parago, was a Japanese girl group managed by LDH and signed to the record label avex trax.

The group was originally formed at CALESS, a school for music and arts in Osaka. After their debut, they were part of Avex's idol section Girl's BOX alongside other acts such as Dream, SweetS and Fruitpunch.

History[]

Pre-debut[]

In the early 2000s, the vocal and dance school CALESS in Osaka decided to form a female team called "9SOULS". The members of this group were students that had a wide experience in busking, performing at local festivals and other activities that allowed them to showcase their talents.

Ultimately, 7 members were chosen to debut: Matsumoto Misaki, Yoshihara Kiyomi, NATALIE, Morita Junko, Itou Ayaka, Fujita Haruka and Hagihara Yuka. At that point, the group also changed their name to "PARADISE GO!! GO!!".

2004[]

On August 4, PARADISE GO!! GO!! debuted with the double A-side single "Koi no Undoukai / NUMBER ONE!!" under the record label avex trax. The group's style was in harmony with other Avex groups such as Dream or SweetS, with a pop sound that sometimes had a few shades of disco-funk music but also included bubbly and cheerful tracks like their debut song,"Koi no Undokai", targeting an audience of young and teenage girls.

Shortly after their debut (August 17-27), the group was featured in a musical stage play produced by EXILE titled BEAT POPS "FIGHTING GIRLS" in Odaiba, Tokyo, that also included the members of (then) idol group dream (with 7 members at that time) as the guest stars.[1]

On December 1, they released their 2nd single titled "ZETTAI". Later that month, the group held their first live show at BIG CAT in Osaka with an audience of about 600 people.

Promoting Faraway

On January 31, Fujita Haruka left the group.

On April 13, Parago released their 3rd single "Faraway" with a 6-member line-up. It reached the #39 spot on the Oricon charts where it stayed for two weeks, making it their highest charting release to this date. After promoting "Faraway", Hagihara Yuka also left the group in June.

In July of that year, two new members were added to fill in the spots that Haruka and Yuka had left: Kotera Rika and Yoshida Risa. With the new line-up, Parago released their 4th single "Real Love" on August 3.[2]

On November 23, they released their 5th single "Argent snow".[3]

Promoting PARADISE GO!! GO!! (Album)

On February 22, the group released their 6th single "Dear my friend".

On March 29, they released their first studio album titled PARADISE GO!! GO!!. Additionally, the group performed at the Pattaya International Music Festival held in Thailand with artists from seven Asian countries for two consecutive days in March too.[4]

In April, he group embarked on their first national solo tour PARADISE GO!! GO!! LIVE TOUR 2006 "Dear my friends".[5] A live DVD of the tour was released on July 26 and to accompany this, a release party was held at Takeshiba D ASH-G in Minato, Tokyo, on August 6.

Afterwards, members Misaki and Ayaka started having side activities with a new performance group named REAL FORCE. Misaki was one of the two vocalists of the group while Ayaka joined as a performer.

2007-2009[]

It was then announced on PARADISE GO!! GO!!'s online blog that the group could possibly go on hiatus and even be dissolved in a near future.

During that hiatus that ended up being the groupā€™s dissolution, Junko Morita joined the cheerleading group called DDS (nowadays called Passion) from the baseball team Tokyo Yakult Swallows. She joined the 2008 line-up and stayed until 2009.[6] At the same time Kiyomi Yoshihara started working as an actress.

When Misaki officially debuted with Love in 2009, it was assumed that PARADISE GO!! GO!! had unofficially been disbanded.
