There, he was so impressed by the two finalists Miyata Satoshi and Tada Kazuya that he decided to work with them. Matsuo named the duo BREATHE with the intention for them "to keep singing just like they are breathing".[1]
2011[]
After a period of busking, BREATHE debuted on December 21 with with the double A-side single "Aikagi / White Lies". "Aikagi" was composed by Daisuke Kawaguchi, while "White Lies'" was composed by Kiyoshi Matsuo; both songs had lyrics written by Matsuo. The single reached the #23 spot on the Oricon charts and managed to stay in the top 30 for 6 weeks.
2012-2016[]

In 2012, they also started hosting their own radio show titled BREATHE PLEASE. Later on they released a cover album titled Lovers' Voices on March 13, 2013, and it featured well known Japanese love songs interpreted in a new way. To promote this album, BREATHE embarked on their first solo tour BREATHE LIVE HOUSE TOUR 2013 "Lovers' Voices".
The duo resumed releasing physical singles in 2013 and 2014 with "Tomorrows" being their highest charting single to this day (#12 on the Oricon charts). Although they hadn't released an original studio album yet, they went on three more solo tours: BREATHE LIVE TOUR 2014 ~Reason for breathing~, BREATHE LIVE 2015 Kokoro Iki and BREATHE OFFICIAL FAN CLUB LIVE TOUR 2015 "LOVE". They also took part in the VOCAL BATTLE AUDITION Presents āVOCAL BATTLE STAGE 2014ā.
